About
Moeen Memorial Welfare Trust was founded in 2008 in loving memory of Moeen Akhtar Shaikh. To commemorate Moeen’s educational zeal and pursuits; Moeen’s family and friends started raising funds amongst themselves to assist deserving and underprivileged children to further their educational dreams.
As word got out they received requests from many vulnerable and underprivileged students to help them with financial aid So they could pursue their studies, a dream that was far-fetched without the support. As the requests grew the family could not simply stop at assisting just a few. They needed to do more.
Moeen Memorial Welfare Trust is registered under the Bombay Public Trusts Act, 1950 at the Public Trusts Registration Office at Surat, that is E//240/Surat. intending to assist as many impoverished students as possible. As the number of requests for assistance overwhelms the foundation, MMWT is compelled to reach out to the community at large for their support and contributions.
Since its inception, Moeen Memorial Welfare Trust has raised more than ₹8,00,00,000.00 (80 million Indian Rupees – 8 Crore) to assist 7,000 students in over 80 villages, towns, and cities in the state of Gujarat., and some out-of-state.

Our organization is committed to providing destitute and disadvantaged Muslim youth in Gujarat India, access to education by providing financial assistance that allows them to achieve their dreams to excel academically.
Some of the students that we assist have no means or resources to further their education on their own. They are orphaned or come from poverty-stricken families whose parents or guardians can barely provide the necessities of life. In this situation, there is very rarely any money left over in household budgets to further a child’s education continuing the endless cycle of poverty for generations.
Moeen Memorial Welfare Trust provides a child with the gift of an opportunity to realize their full potential, empowers them with an eduction to rise out of poverty and break the cycle of an impoverished life, and contribute positively towards the society at large.
